What is the difference between the Pump Fuel & Race Fuel Option?
Depending on your application we offer two great engine package options to suit!
Option 1. Pump Fuel (ITB427-1)
This option is designed for street cars wanting to run normal pump fuel such as pump 98 etc. These are a more versatile option depending on your use.
This package is built with a flat top piston to achieve a compression ratio designed to maximize this fuel type. This provides an engine combo suited for all aspects or road/track use!
Option 2. E85/Race Fuel (ITB427-2)
This option is designed with a higher compression ratio than your average pump fuel will allow. When going to a Dome Top piston we are exceeding the limits of Pump 98 which is only beneficial for Ethanol/E85 or race fuels.
This is typically more suited to race cars or predominantly strip/track cars with less street use due to the fuel economy sacrifice of these types of fuels. Don't care about fuel economy? This is for you!
Increasing compression & switching to these fuels can have significant gains when paired with the right cam & head package.
