Why do I need an AFM DOD delete kit?
Factory AFM lifter are spring loaded to allow for the factory cylinder shut off system which is cute for the eco-friendly folk.
The issue starts with the spring loaded lifters fail & essentially eat away at the camshaft.
Simple fix - Upgrade the camshaft right...? Wrong!
The reason you cant just upgrade the camshaft is simply for the fact that the factory lifters are designed to work with the factory DOD camshaft which its whole purpose is to shut off 4 cylinders at certain rpm.
Now the idea of power is to increase power across the rpm range.
